He would play circles around me.

It's an acoustic guitar forum but I think it would have been a lot of fun to jam with that crazy diamond Syd Barrett and take off into some psychedelic craziness.

That is basically the exact same way I learned when a teenager, and didn't it annoy you when the next record you put on was slightly out of tune from the previous song, huh? Always retuning to make it sound as good as it could. The line voltage would vary slightly making the turntable go a hair faster or slower! Plus, everything was recorded to a tape, same issue. Thanks for the remembrance!

Great choice, and I would ask to play "It Takes Three"

My old college roommate Kelly. (Left us about fifteen years ago by way of a heart attack.) He played a black Gibson that I adored. I didn't play guitar back then. I think he would be surprised by my playing now.

Yes, and that might be when I would quickly throw on a capo (made of elastic)! It got so I could play along with all the songs without lifting the needle off of the record!

For me, I'd easily choose Paul McCartney. He is my favorite musician, and in my opinion the best musician in modern history. I would love to play Blackbird with him...
No one you have ever heard of. Just a friend.
