So what do they call it when they actually get the guitar? ANGD (actually new guitar day) or NGDFR (New guitar day for real)

I usually wait, so I can take some photos and share my personal assessment of the guitar's sound, appearance, comfort, and build quality. But I totally get the excitement and anticipation, and those threads can be fun, especially when the OP gets everyone guessing or talking about what's inbound.

A NGD is not a NGD when it’s about to happen and then turns into a New Catalytic Converter Day or a New Fridge Day or a New Roof Year.

NGD......... gotta have pictures. The old saying “no pictures and it didn’t happen” says it all. Guitar in hand and pictures posted then it’s qualifies and not until that.

I appreciate the anticipation and excitement of an incoming instrument but that’s not the same as opening the case and playing it for the first time

Once, when I was younger, a quick succession of TANG and BANG resulted in some painfully loud PANG. But the PANG went away soon enough, and now, I'm far more careful with my TANG and BANG habits.

I used to post NGDs… but then in re reading my posts, each guitar I bought was the bestest ever!

19 posts like that made me look like the fool I was!

I’ve been a little guilty of that over the years as well.

Why not some Guitar Sold Day (GSD) threads where you describe the beauty you just sold and all the money you got and what you are going to do with the money? With pictures of the guitar and what you bought of course. Those threads would be interesting.

Yes, on this forum we should (only) celebrate when we thin the heard.

I sold another 20 minutes ago.

This year I sold two guitars and an amp an only bought a S1 pro

My NGD is when I say. I bought a 00-28 a few months back and I’m considering writing a NGD review soon. I wanted to give an accurate assessment, not a gushing “best guitar in the world” review. I’m about ready.

I agree. Nothing worse than vicariously clicking on a NGD thread and seeing nothing. Why even post? They don't call it show and tell for nothing.

When you accidentally put your foot through it on its first day?

I was thinking that the "D" time element is a bit broad. So, how about "NAGS" - New Acoustic Guitar Second.
Or is that words already taken and/or too much an omen?
