Compact light system for solo gigs
Hello ! I've been gigging solo for a long time, guitar harmonica voice and currently playing on an Evolve 30m.
I've got the hitch to add a little light system to my show, because this summer I'm touring with a band that has a complete light system with a light tech. It sure does add to the show. I'm looking for a light and compact light system, suitable for my solo act. It better be plug and play, I don't like to add too many cables and complexity to the setup. What can you recommend? Thanks

I would check out others in your area that provide their own lighting and ask them. But in my area even open mic night hosts do not provide lighting. As you said you seem to be not wanting to add more cables, electrical connectors and such. From a risk management prospective I'd stay away from lighting, I worry enough about someone bumping a PA speaker and causing injury to others. Fair warning.

What specific light effects are you after? Do you just want to illuminate yourself? Any color changing or moving heads or chase lights?
When you enjoyed the lights you toured with, do you know if they used a hazer? Haze makes lights 10x as cool, but adds significant complication.

I use a Chauvet Colorstrip Mini. A fraction of the price of the stomplight, which admittedly looks like a useful product, but priced unrealistically for what it is.

I would want to see some more pics of that Stomplight in use. Thinking like a photographer, being lit from below can look unflattering. It seems like you'd need the device to be out in front of you somewhere to give the light the right angle.
The light stick on a tripod seems likely to look better, though having that thing sticking up on stage presents its own problems, I guess.
