A nice, inexpensive Canadian made nylon string is the La Patrie Etude. Looks like now it's under the Godin name.

Well OP, if you're still around, I stumbled across an Almansa yesterday-- and I get the appeal-- it was awesome.

Bought it on the spot. Review and pictures forthcoming

They're a great sound and well worth having around. Yamaha and Cordoba would be the inexpensive models I'd go after first.
And Kremona. They're a long-established Bulgarian builder that has been pretty successful in recent years. They make excellent relatively inexpensive guitars.
