Default Any good places for free tabs and music?

I know you can google these things, but I am wondering if there is a good site with everything on there.

Most are specialized. What type of music and in what style?

Default bounce back and forth between them ...

www.911tabs.com is a site that works like a search engine to list other sites.

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com has most of what you want for rock n roll

http://www.e-chords.com often times has better chord forms than other sites. Not that much in the way of tabs but it does have some.

www.youtube.com has lots of song specific instructional videos.

Bounce back and forth between them all. One site will have an awesome version of one song you like and then have a horrible version of the next song you like.

There are also educational sites that, for a nominal fee, will offer up 40 or 60 songs that they will teach you for a set price. I am not selling anything here. I'm just saying it's an option.

Every time I have taken a song to my instructor that I learned online, He always picks a part the online version after listening to the song itself and comes up with chord forms that, once you hear them, you he's right. So, without ear training, you might not be able to tell the difference. Just go with what ever makes your fingers feel good, in key that you can actually sing in.

... at least that's what I do (since I don't always have the money for lessons)

http://primanota.net/

Here is one that I found while looking for Bert Jansch tabs. They are all arranged alphabetically too. They even have mp3 to go with some of the tabs.

Here for this song, " Been on the road so long " by Bert Jansch

http://primanota.net/bert-jansch/bee...o-long-tab.htm

I love this version, with Rod Clements, it's not the version of what is tabbed out though. I feel lucky enough to have stumbled upon this site and find this version.

Note that Songsterr and Ultimate-Guitar both have excellent apps for iPhone and iPad. I use them both frequently.

Most of the tab sites mentioned are fairly complete for the more well known songs. But I personally don't find their tabs to be exceptionally good. Lots of mistakes as they relate to the original artist's rendition, and not a lot of expression in the rest. Plus, tabs are great for getting started, but a really great tab accompanied with a sound file of the same tab is infinitely better.

If you are in need of a specific tab, and are serious about learning the song, there are a couple of tabbers at http://talk-music.proboards.com who can provide some great personalized tabs.
