Thanks for the insightful review. Pricepoint seems good for a "Lowden" guitar, if it can be called a Lowden. I am hoping to play one soon.

Let us know what you think. I would be interested to know how the action is on the one that you try.

Seems you pay a lot of money just to have mods of pickup and setup right off the bat, adding several hundred more to the purchase price. You play beautifully.

Very nice review and excellent playing! I have the S-04 with the Sitka top and agree that it's forte is for plugging in as I find it pretty quiet played acoustically.

Sorry to disagree, but the mic'd sound was way different (and better) than the PU straight into your interface. My cheapo computer speakers of course. The PU sound turned me off.

If you check the specs the OP is using a set of $1500 mics so that’s to be expected really. The Baggs Anthem is great for live play though.

Sure. Understand. But he said they sounded very similar. Not to me.

Good review thanks for sharing it.

One minor point- Ed Sheeran plays both with and without a pick. Sometimes during the same song.

Aaron,
Just as a follow up- and realizing that gigs are basically done- how do you feel about the S03 a month later? I'm thinking of getting the S04 for livestreaming, but unsure about the VTC pickup.

I wouldn't entertain one of these at all personally, I love Lowdens, but not these budget offerings.

Fair enough. But I beat the tar out of my guitars. I've had to send one Taylor back to the factory for restoration, and now need to send a second one to them.

As a quality beater guitar, these are appealing to me.
