Default Santa Cruz OM/PW - Sold!

Sold!

To preserve marital harmony, I established a one in, one out policy, so something must go and it's a real winner. This Santa Cruz OM/PW is going to make someone very happy. Here's what Santa Cruz says about this model:
The Pre-War Orchestra Model honors its pre-WWII predecessors with an advanced X and scalloped top bracing. This time-tested design ensures large bass response and overall volume. The OM/PW is presented with understated appointments to emphasize master grade materials, tone and workmanship. It is perfect for the aficionado that loves the advantages of a professional boutique instrument without the cost of rare wood and ornamentation. The OM’s versatility and ergonomics lend great appeal for traditional picking styles and impressive rhythm work. Expect the predominant bass and throaty presence of the surviving pre-war antiques.
The guitar was featured by Santa Cruz at the 2010 Winter NAMM show. It is in excellent condition: no dings, no blemishes. I've played new guitars at the shop that showed more play wear. And speaking of playing, it sounds amazing unplugged and plugged. The LR Baggs iMix does a wonderful job of reproducing the voice of this OM/PW. The action is set low without buzzing. And, despite the above comment about understated appointments, this guitar has the following custom appointments:
  • Brazilian rosewood bridge
  • Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay
  • Herringbone rosette & top purfling
  • L.R. Baggs iBeam pickup w/ soundhole volume and tone controls (installed by Santa Cruz)

Aside from the above, all other specifications are standard for the model. Here are some of the key metrics:
  • Nut width: 1 3/4"
  • String spacing: 2 3/16"
  • Scale length: 25.375
  • Top wood: Sitka Spruce
  • Back & side: East Indian Rosewood
  • Neck: Soft V with volute
  • Case: Original hard shell

I'm offering this gorgeous SCGC OM/PW for **Sold** paypal'd and shipped CONUS. No trades, please.

Great guitars! Love the Herringbone trim. Unique offering too with the BRW bridge.

Great looking guitar! I am yet to play a Santa Cruz guitar I didn't like. If I weren't in "liquidation mode", I'd likely be making a move on this one!

Phil is a GREAT guy, buy with confidence!

Thank you for the kind words, Playtobias. I was in Santa Cruz 2 weeks ago and visited the shop. Fortunately for me, you can't buy one there!

Mac, I've had a similar conversation in my head.

Good luck, OP- stellar looking guitar. I always have my eyes peeled when a Santa Cruz OM comes through here. There's been a few painful ones recently that the timing hasn't been right for, but I'm hoping to rectify that sometime 2019 at the latest.

Cheers and all the best

I've got some nibbles, but it's still available. This OM/PW is one of the sweetest sounding guitars. Whoever buys it will be getting a really great guitar at a very reasonable price.

If it wasn't such a great guitar, why would Richard Hoover have selected to feature it at the 2010 NAMM?
