Default First guitar advice

Hello all,

I really would like to learn to play classical guitar. I am looking to buy my first guitar later this month. I do not have much to spend ($350 would be my upper limit). I know a lot of people would recommend saving more to get a better instrument; however, for me a guitar is better than no guitar right now. I would prefer it to have a matte finish if it is at all possible. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Consider looking into used Cordoba or Takamine guitars that fit your price range (non-crossover or hybrid models if you are going to tackle classical music).

+1 for a used Cordoba or a new/used Yamaha, both companies make great instruments that can be found in your price range.

I have a $300 Cordoba that feels and sounds really good. All brands typically have very similar guitars at the low price range, so it doesn't really matter which you choose as they'll all be fine.

This has not been my experience.

My Takamine sounded and played much better than the other guitars in the store. Huge difference.
