There are some British ones that might not have made it over the pond.

I enjoyed Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Great intro too. I watched most of the episodes about 10-15 years ago.

.
Ran on TV here too, for years and years . . . The Clay People! The Hawk People! Those great art deco spaceships with their interiors full of sharp corners! Princess Aura!

Note that transporter technology was perfected long before ST TOS was a twinkle in Gene's eyes.

I haven't seen 12 Monkeys mentioned yet. 1 of the 4 seasons (2 maybe?) dragged a bit. The last few shows of the final season were riveting.

Currently... HBO’s Raised by Wolves is quite good, as is Lovecraft Country (more horror, though)
I really liked Netflix’s “Travelers”.

I gave The Expanse a try when it started, but for some reason it didn’t catch me... Now that it’s streaming, I may give it a second try.

Give The Expanse another shot. It really takes off on season 2.

Agree !! one of the better newer ones. I binged watched my way through it very quickly.

Guess I'll have to check out "The Expanse" now

Here's one for the older members - anyone else remember this double episode?

10. Star Trek - the original sci-fi tv series. Cheesy for today’s standards, but it deserves respect.
9. Battlestar Galactica 70’s - another cheesy show for today standards, but I loved it as a kid.
8. Knight Rider - I know it’s a stretch to call this sci-fi, but it kinda qualifies. A classic.
7. Falling Skies - air lost some steam on its later seasons, but it was a good ride.
6. Fringe - One of my all-time favorites. And who didn’t just loved Walter?
5. Lost - Controversial ending but wow what a ride and such great writing that kept you guessing what the hell was going on.
4. The Man In The High Castle - Another great show that makes you think “what if”.
3. X-Files - Show still holds up well. It’s that good.
2. The Expanse - I’m absolutely blown away by this show. Can’t wait for the next season.
1. Battlestar Galactica 00’s - without a doubt the greatest sci-fi show ever made. The whole ride was amazing and it had one of the most satisfying endings ever. Watched it about 3 times and I think I’ll give it another go.
*edit*

Honorable mentions:
Away - it did move a bit too slow at times, but great characters. Like mentioned earlier, it’s a drama that’s set in space.

Helix - stuck in a lab in Antarctica, weird experiments, and of course there’s an outbreak.
We have a lot of similar interests. I've never heard of "The Man In The High Castle" so I Googled it. Sounds interesting. It made me think of Sliders. The first couple of years were great but then it went downhill.

Dr. Who original series, especially the Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker eras. I used to have almost all of it on VHS.

The original Star Trek, The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits. Star Trek, The Next Generation was decent too after a few seasons.

William Hartnell was the true original Dr Who - Pertwee and Baker were 3rd and 4th.

When I was a kid Lost in Space was probably my all time favourite & I think I had a crush on Marta Kristen (Judy Robinson). Moving on from there the original Star Trek took over.

As for British sci fi the Tom Baker era Dr Who piqued my interest more than it's predecessors & I thought he was the best Dr until David Tennant came along.

I liked the original TV series of Hitch Hikers Guide after reading the books & also got a good laugh or 3 from Red Dwarf.

For non space or (mainly) terrestial sci fi The X Files tops my list.

Wow, I forgot about SM, talk about going senile. I think I saw every episode multiple times.

I'd forgotten about Buck Rogers, it was a bit corny but tongue in cheek enough to make it kind of loveable.

I remember Space 1999 too but I was pretty young, would have been mid 70s? Quite serious & made an honest attempt to be technically accurate although the real 1999 fell way short of it's expectations, I guess that's why it's called science fiction.
