I just can't look that cool anymore, but I can play the acoustic opening to Stairway and then its up to you.

No problem...Then we get Sharky, Unknown, and Acousticado to sing 3 part harmony!!! You still have to sing lead though...

The fine print on that photo says that it's a baritone and 12 string combo! Too awesome.

Bummer... I was excited for a minute... then the let down. I can wait, patiently. Well, I actually have no choice. Just got back from SanFran to Seattle. The X7-OS in tow... This guitar is awesome, but I do look forward to the double....

If I had more time to catch my flight, I would have stopped to show the Emerald to another traveller who ran down the motor walkway to inquire. Think of the possibilities of promotion airports give!

That short (19") scale 12 string on their facebook page looks real interesting. Like a CF Veillette Gryphon. Does anyone have any idea what this custom would sell for?

A lot of interest has been expressed about the Chimaera in various configurations. I love my 6/12. It's time to resurrect this thread to get those who now own Chimaeras, have one on order, or are contemplating a purchase of one to chime-in. Have at it, boys!

Would regular strings be used on a short scale 12?

Hopefully he'll talk about his chimera. It's a featured one.

Default Wise choice

Last weekend I happened to see a used acoustic doubleneck for sale that really made me appreciate buying the Chimaera. Carbon offers nice strength to the body for supporting 18 strings. The first thing I looked at on this old used one was the areas supporting the bridges. There was a slight bulge around the 12 string bridge and none around the 6. Not as bad as some cheap 12 strings I've seen, but after reading the article on why the Chimaera was created, I definitely saw proof of what Mr Sambora was talking about. Didn't bother to try it, being able to see a significant difference between the 6 and 12 at the bridge I pretty much knew what to expect.

What brand was it? I have a Yairi wood double.
