One thing to consider in terms of comfort and reach is that many 0 and parlor instruments are fairly deep to add volume (both the loudness kind and the cubic-inches kind). Some guitars that are a little taller and longer will also be a little shallower and you may find that to be more comfortable.

I recently went through the same Journey looking for an OM with the 1 and 11/16 nut. It took a while. I was actually at the point of ordering a guitar with the smaller nut when I found the perfect guitar on the Forum, for great price. they're out there, you just have to be patient

I do believe there would be a bit of a wait though.

This Teton parlor guitar would probably work well for you. I really enjoy mine. They have plainer versions than my STP180DVB. The nut width on mine splits the difference between 1-11/16" and 1-3/4". I could get it out and measure body dimensions if the web site doesn't show them.
Just found them on another parlor model: DIMENSIONS Upper Bout Width: 248mm/9 3/4″ Body Length: 498mm/19 5/8″ Overall Length: 978mm/38 1/2″ http://www.tetonguitars.com/product/...-teton-guitar/ |

12 fretters with 1 11/16 nuts are very tough to find. If you can live with 14 fretter, as others have suggested, plenty of vintage Martin 0-18s to choose from and the right ones sound fantastic.

So reading this- I'm now looking at my recent addition Yamaha fs820- and it's 14 fret and 1 11/16-
I think if I really wanted- I might be able to squeeze a 1 3/4" nut on- I pushed a nut size up one once on a 3/4 classical guitar and it worked- 1/16 of an inch is approximately 1.5 mm- and so were talking about an expansion of 3/4 of a millimeter on each side of the fret board- not a lot really nuts aren't that hard to change but some risk- obviously you don't want to glue it down very firmly. |

You never want to glue a nut down firmly. Two or three dots the size of a pin head on the end of the fret board using white glue is all you ever need. Lots of people have reported success spreading the strings a bit on Yamaha and other brands.

Of the top of my head some of the Guild m20s from the 60s and 70s have a 1 11/16th nut width and would be exactly the size you are looking for. I have a modern one with a wider nut, but the older ones don't break the bank.
