Default Yet Another Zi8 Newbie Recording

Dang that Zi8 is good! Every time I lift my eyebrows, I can see a dozen mega-wrinkles on my forehead. LOL, there's no fool like an old fool on YouTube.

Hi Gary,

I really like this song!

The lyrics get to the heart of a very recognizable sort of relationship dynamic. And the tune conveys a sense of wistful perspective on the whole matter.

The recording is high quality, with nice clear video.

Well done.

Thanks for the kind words, David. I enjoy this song because I get to assume the role of a playboy type (who gets his just desserts) for a few minutes.

Great job!

How are you doing the audio? Straight in or with a mic?

Hi Chuck,

I did this one straight in. I'm just beginning to get familiar with the Zi8. I plan to be taking the signal off a mixer for "live" performances, to eliminate crowd noise and room ambience as much as possible.

djwayne,

Thanks for the encouragement.

Have I met you at one of Mike Lenz's Towpath Cabin gigs in Massillon? I see that you're from northeast Ohio, so its possible that we've crossed paths.

Thanks for the info Gary. I might need to just try to take the audio straight in instead of the fancy mic. You got good results!

The song fits your handle. A real zaniac.

Great quality with the Zi8, for sure.

Hi Ryan and Rob,

Thankyou for the nice comments.

Regarding the "zaniac" thing, I'm attempting to go in that direction (while putting quite a few faces to the voice) with the (hopefully) humorous song "I Won't Miss BB". I also posted the more upbeat and high energy "Out There In The Night" last night. The Ki8 fun continues.

Gary, I think you should appear in one of Dave Carroll's "United Breaks Guitars" videos. You would fit the part well . Funny stuff, keep 'em coming!

Playing a Taylor in a Martin shirt. There just seems to be something out of synch in the cosmos.

Love the songs, Gary.

Have you read all those books?
