Richard Gilewitz 12 string
I have heard Gilewitz playing this great song on several 12 string guitars... all of them are excellent guitars... but some of them seemed to be challenged by the song. But.. he seems to be playing one I haven't seen him play on YouTube before. Whichever brand it is, it works great for his tuning on this song! Michael Fix adds an extra layer that is awesome too.

Yep, thats one of his Schenk 12 strings... Richard has been one of my best friends/teacher for 25 years. He was doing a sound check a couple years ago and asked me to play that particular Schenk while he dialed in the sound. I can remember playing and then stopping and wondering where that beautiful sound was coming from...then realized it was me! Schenk guitars are sublime!

You ought to hear Richard play "Vaseline Machine Gun" in person.

Thanks for that info... the Schenk 12 string sounds incredibly Gilewitz on that tune... wheras the other mass produced guitars he has recorded this song with just didnt have that tone!
