Sort of a shame this guitar is so homely. OMG!! Good luck with your sale.

LOL!! Thanks very much! Seriously reaching a point where it won't pay to sell it. It won't really be a hardship if I have to keep it. The custom build is over a year out, so I can wait and see if I there's more interest later in the year.

Thanks again!!

BEAUTIFUL guitar! That is stunning to look at and I'm certain is a joy to play. I personally love Sinker Redwood. Every piece is unique and distinctive and the sound characteristics and overtones are to die for.

Best of luck on your sale!

Chas, thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed it. There's a longish story attached to why I chose that song, but suffice it to say that it touched me deeply, and I just had to learn it.

Thanks for the comment on the guitar and good wishes as well.

All the best,
Mike

A guitar as pretty as this one shouldn't be stuck on page 4, let's give the weekend crowd a look at this beauty!

Mike,,,,,,I ended up ordering the GC,,used yours as a base idea,,,Ted got me some awesome pieces of wood, I didn't know that California put an end to the supply of sinker Redwood. At least I can give you a bump to the top.

If possible you should keep your GA,,,,your taking too much of a hit

Joe

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the bump, and congratulations on your choice! Ted is terrific, as you know, and I'm sure you're going to wind up with a beauty!! Please post up some pictures of the wood, if you have an opportunity.

As far as keeping this one. More than likely I will do so. I had some interest, including an offer of a dread trade with cash, and I would have jumped on it, but have the custom dread being built. I am really only willing to go about this low and take this much of a loss; any lower and it just doesn't pay to sell. Besides, it is so pretty in looks and sound that I don't mind keeping it.

Thanks again, and I'm looking forward to hearing how yours comes out.

All the best,
Mike

I'm not sure about that either. What I've heard is, nobody is allowed to actively dig for it, but whatever floats free after storms and other natural events is available to be recovered. If it is true, I can keep this for a few more years as the supply becomes scarce, and perhaps it will increase in value. It would also continue to open up, which it has done to some degree already, so I might never want to sell it.

Anyway, if this guitar remains unpurchased through the weekend, I will remove it from the classifieds and just continue to enjoy it. I can always try again at another time, if I want to.

Joe, if you have any info on that ban on Sinker, let us know!!

I was told that the harvest of sinker redwood from waters in california has been stopped, or severely restricted in California, that they feel that it is a limited state resource, and that only the existing supplies are available for sale. Was told that by two different people

That's all I know, apparently there is still sufficient stock, but it will be pulled from build lists within 2 years

I have pics, but have no idea of how post them
