Default Kloss

Just got a Kloss full size..... fyi, it isn't really full size. However, it sounds great. Great tone.... very bright.... and comfortable to play. It makes me want to check out some of the other CF guitars.

I've never seen a Klos guitar in the flesh. But two ladies from our ukulele club brought their Klos tenor ukulele last night. Those joined two Blackbird Farallon ukes last night, so four composite instruments out of about 15 people present. The Klos ukulele are very nicely built, sound quite good and play well. It is a little weird to see a CF body with a wood fret board. The back of the neck is painted black, so you cannot tell that it is wood too. Klos come at a pretty good price point too.

Careful: the first one is a gateway drug, and some of us are seriously hooked.

Can you post photos of your Klos full size ? I have always been interested in this model since its introduction, and I would also like more details on the sound ? Thank you !

.
The wood fretboard doesn't bother me. It's the wooden neck that kept me from buying one.

The pricepoint is quite attractive though.

I would also be interested in buying one. The neck has an option for CF stiffeners so I think it would be OK. My only fear is the bracing is wood. I do not hear of any problems with the travel guitar, but the full size has a larger span. I wil probably wait to see if no issues arise before I jump in. I had a problem with my bracing with me OX and it had to go on a trip back to the plant twice before it was finally fixed. The Klos looks very interesting. 4 bolts and you have a travel guitar.

It always seems like a terrible idea to mate climate-sensative materials (wood) to climate-insensative materials (CF) and expect them to stay melded over the long term. One of these things is going to swell and contract with environmental conditions, and the other is going to remain stable. Seems like a recipe for disaster.

Good point Mig. Any predictions about which material will remain stable?
