If my memeory serves me correctly, that price has been the same at least for the last 3 weeks. That is when I first saw them on the 12th Fret site. It is possible that the list price went up from 2009.

that 12th fret price has been right for a while. i think the conversion rate to US might be off. they were the cheapest around off the bat when i was shopping. i ended up buying from alejandro directly but it was because i had a chance as a relative local to go visit and play the instrument! every dealer i spoke to was very helpful and essentially had the same "category killer for the price" story about cervantes crossover. and many of these places carry goodall, et al. i have played a few much more expensive crossovers and while i MIGHT argue that the last word in craftsmanship and detail is better on these, the sound was not.

another gentleman ericofrance had a very influential (to me) post here a while back on this subject...

i didn't. i played alejandro's own guitar which i think was a master milenia with a raised fingerboard. the 3 crossovers i played all sounded beautiful.

Yamaha NTX series for me, I find them better than the Taylor NS series by a country mile.

Hey Coke,

I have the NTX 900FM and the Cordoba GK Studio on the short list as possible replacements for my Yamaha GCX 171 SCF. When you selected your NTX did you try the Cordoba GK Studio and if so , what made you choose the NTX?

I'll be able to audition the GK Studio next week, but finding an NTX 900 FM in my area is near to impossible. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Gary

I just purchased a Yamaha NXT700. I did play the Cordoba cross as well. I thought the NXT had better tone and was easier to play plus it was less expensive. I don't know about the electronics because I didn't plug in and never have used them before. Unplugged it was just better to me and my ears (such as they are). Just one man's opinion.

Gary, I have a Cordoba GK Studio and it is an outstanding guitar. When you will play it, you will be blown away at how good it is (especially for the price). Good luck.

I only tried the NTX next to the Taylor NS and much prefered the Yamaha acoustically & plugged in. I only have the NTX700 but I played all of them up to the 1200R. I got the 700 because I was unsure at the time if I would play it often enough, looking back I wish I got the 1200R. I also got it as I'm not a fan of "traditional" classical guitar styling & rosettes at all. Yamaha have a really nice fresh new styling which I like a lot.
