What's your go-to guitar pick?
I've tried all sorts of boutique picks from likes of Hense, Wegen, and Bluechip and I always end up gravitating back to my trusty old D'andrea 346 Heavies.

I prefer casein these days. CLP (I have one at ~1mm but I'd like to go a little heavier). I have one from a local maker, Blake Dyson, casein at 1.3mm which I mostly use. Right behind it is a Wegen Bluegrasser.
I have a Blue Chip TD 60 but it's too subdued for me so I don't use it much anymore (I've lost a lot of high end hearing and the casein sounds better to me). I sometimes flatpick with my Black Mountain thumbpicks - I have two flavors to choose from. I also sometimes do the same with a Red Bear thumbpick. I prefer the one with a proprietary material vs the casein one. Go figure.

Fender 351 heavy. It works for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin and bass. Every time that I make an online "strings and things" order I add a dozen or so in various colors. Having one pick for almost everything has simplified my life somewhat.

Don't laugh.
I really like the black 'T' thin pick from Strings & Beyond - it's .50mm thick.

Got Bluechips, Dunlops, Wegens, Pearse, Claytons and others and always seem to end up with a Fender Heavy stuck in the strings of each guitar when I pull one out of it’s case to play.

I've tried EVERY pick material there is, in every conceivable shape, from MOST of the pick mfrs.
After many years and dozens of picks, I've found the original PEEK (not colored) Gravity Gold standard teardrop, XL size, 1.5 mm thickness is the best guitar pick for me. |

I’ve come to really like casein quite a bit and my faves are from Charmed Life and Apollo. I have a few Red Bear that are a bit thicker than I am used to. I prefer the small triangle shape with at least one rounded corner from .90 to 1.1mm thickness.

Wegen M100 for me at the moment. Here it is in comparison to a Fender 351 and 346. I tend toward very rounded picks (I'll play a 351 off the side wings rather than the point). I would not suggest you try a Wegen M100 unless you do play rounded picks. But if you do, then these M100 picks have a real punch at the bottom and shimmer at the top for Carter picking song accompaniment. And single note leads are really solid. I don't plug in, so having plenty of volume is beneficial, and the M100 (in fact all the Wegen picks) are the loudest ones I have tried so far. And they are better balanced for Carter style than Blue Chip in my opinion. I find Blue Chip a bit too "shouty" in the strum and very flat in e/q. Wegen have more character.

Wade turned me on to these and I really like them. Great blend of no “click” on the strings with a nice medium tone, not too bright or warm. Mix in a Fender heavy for a warmer sound and a Primetome .88mm for louder and more forward sounding and I got it covered
