Default Post Circa (John Slobod) Photos!

You can't have too many Circa photos. If you have them, post them. If not, post a zany picture of John. There are many of them!

Pictured here are an OM-28 (red spruce and Brazilian rosewood) and a 000-12 cutaway (German spruce and German maple).

Mighty nice gits!!! How do you like the banjo tuners on the 14 fretter?

This will be an eye candy thread for sure!

Banjo tuners? They're ok. I wouldn't order them for a custom build, but they're good enough. I'd rather have Waverly, personally.

Beautiful guitars!

Anybody planning on bringing a Circa to B.I.G.? I'm dying to play one.

I won't be coming to BIG this year, unfortunately. And I probably wouldn't bring my Circa, I'm sorry to say. The last BIG left my maple Circa pretty scratched up. I was happy other people got to play it. I love spreading the joy. But I wish it hadn't gotten so scratched up on the top.

Here we have my very first Circa. An OM style 30 with purfling by Howard Klepper. Adirondack spruce top with Madagascar rosewood back and sides. And an OM-18 with style 21 appointments (thanks to Matthew Partrick for the idea). That one has an Adirondack spruce top and flamed mahogany back and sides.

It wasn't me, I swear! But since it's all scratched up, why don't you sell it to me for a good price and I'LL take it to B.I.G.? It's the only Circa I've ever played, but I still think it's the best guitar I've had my scratchy little mitts on. (Um, I mean grubby. Grubby little mitts.)

I’ve played Juston’s OM 30, albeit briefly. Awesome guitar. And the mahogany on that OM-18/21 is the stuff of legends.

Bummer about the scratches on the 000, dude! That kind of thing shouldn’t happen among fellow aficionados.

That OM-18/21 is the single most perfect guitar I've ever seen. I am head over heels for my OM from John, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for that 18. I'm loyal to my OM too!

I have it on questionable authority that the tuners work the same regardless of where the neck meets the body.

I love the Rickard 10-1s.

Beautiful photos, Brian!! I love the look of the cream tuner buttons on that paddle headstock. Is the headplate koa?
