Trust me ,, it's multi lateral. Having been fishing in remote locations in Alaska, the Yukon, Northwest Territories, as well as Mexico, and the Caribbean, leaving abandoned junk is a human condition. Part and parcel of the universal arrogant, and ignorant self interest and disregard for nature, that has pockmarked the world in the wake of human "progress"

What struck me was how human -esk (as if posing for the photos) the bears looked

Nah, nothing so extreme would be necessary.

Think about it. Back in 500 BC, who would've thought that shards of ancient Greek pottery would ever be treasured relics of the past and protected by glass in museums?

Maybe your right perhaps in 500 years you may see a 70's Polaris 340 in a glass case or diorama, with the plaque that reads.

"This ancient very crude mode of over snow transport was difficult to operate and maintain. Was prone to breakdown and getting stuck . And left many an old world adventurer , stranded in what was called the Tiaga, before it became the World Heritage Sand Dunes Park ""

Polar bears are amazing creatures, but terrifying too. It was the photos of them looking out the windows, or ambling calmly through the front door, that got me.

"Come on in - we'd love to have you for dinner!"

Ya it was interesting he apparently used a drone and the bears got pretty acclimated to it.
I agree and would not get anywhere near Polar bears.

But Interestingly this 9-10 ft female Reef Shark stopped dead still about 5 ft away, and I actually did not feel threatened and wonder if it was thinking "any chance you could pull this hook out of my mouth ?" (Note the 20 + ft. of mono line you can just see it trailing out towards the bottom of her left pectoral fin, and beyond her tail )





I was a bit more cautious and aware when I took this photo of this yearling lion in my garage with a 200 telephoto lens at maybe 25 ft.. (Note the three Porcupine quills in her face.



Where as Eddy the Elk became very accustom to us, and posed for a number of photo ops.

This one with our ponies,,, he seems to be thinking "Hey where is my blanket ?"

Getting back to the subject at hand, I think it is cool the way the bears adapted and used their surroundings. I had seen this on Facebook and was certainly intrigued by how he got the pictures. If I am not mistaken the Polar Bear is generally considered the most aggressive bear even more so than the Grizzly having been known to tract humans for miles. Hard to believe when they look so "comical" in these photos or drinking a Coke during the X-mas season commercials.

Yes the as noted the photographer mentions a drone with quiet propellers ? I guess stealth tech is getting into the personal drone market

Many bear experts theorize it may well be that polar bears as a population in general historically, have had such little human contact , that they likely consider humans as simply another potential food source (as opposed to a threat) compared to brown and black bears ..
