I tried out an Alvarez AP70 and really, really liked the bang for the buck, excellent quality. The AP66 should be similarly pleasing. They get a lot of love around here. Keep us posted on your decision... Best of luck to you.

If you're looking at recording kings step up from the Dirty 30s to an RP-06. I had one and it was a fantastic little guitar. I just found I prefer big ones! A much nicer guitar than the Dirty Thirties.

Couple of suggestions for parlour guitars in your price range.

Solid top: http://www.musicstore.de/en_EN/GBP/J...GIT0031071-000

Solid top and a Pretty fretboard: http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbf200_nt.htm

Good luck - it's a wise choice.

I'd give Seagull or any variation of Godin a look, especially used.

+1 for the Alvarez parlor (00 size) guitars. I have an AP66sb and an AP610eshb. Both are great little guitars for the money.

Hi, I own one of those. It is very good value, however, it is a kind of one-trick poney. As long as you play blues, it does the job but versatility is not exactly its strong point. I remember playing a Tanglewood TW 73 (if I remember well) which can be found used for around $300 and if I were in the market for a new parlor, I would definitely give it a look.
Have fun looking for the one,

Michel

Here are some specs and sound clips if you want to take a listen. I think you'd be happy with any of these -

I've had my eyes on the Washburn WP11SNS for a while now. Never played one but I just think its a really nice looking and sounding guitar (from what I've heard on YouTube reviews). Its definitely on my list to buy.
