Sunken bridge pin.
They’re all level except the D. New pins, same result. Do I ream the bridge so they all sit properly, or should I just shut up play. Lol
Any and all advice appreciated. Mike 😋 |

Lots to know before responses..Old guitar? New guitar? Bridge slotted? Picture would help, no strings, just the pins installed.

If one bridge pin is a little too loose, I have fixed that by "painting" CA glue on the inside of the hole with Stewmac's brush-on CA. Then touch it up with the reamer to get it perfect.

Have you got one too low or five too high? Either way you answered your own question...
If it’s the former, do as bnjp suggests - build up the hole by swabbing the inside of the D hole with CA (or Titebond will do, but CA is probably best), let it dry completely, and touch up with the reamer as necessary in order to get the D pin sitting level with the five. If it’s the latter, ream the five holes until the pins sit down nicely to their collars and level with the D pin. The usual disclaimers apply......IMHO, YMMV etc.

Thank you all. I should have given a bit more info. Couldn’t figure out how to attach a photo. I’ll try the CA method.

Yay I fixed it!
Turns out the the pin was not over bored, rather the other five were under bored. Soo, I procured a tapered reamer for princely sum of $5 and ever so carefully corrected the bores so all pins flange on the bridge. Worked perfect 😋 |
