That's what I'm hoping, but we just gave up a 3-run 5th inning.

Cards win in the bottom of the 10th on Yadi's sac fly!

It didn't look good late in the game but the Cards pulled it out!
Too bad Houston and Greinke got bombed. |

And momentum shifts ever so slightly. Bring on Game 5. But it’s in Hot ‘Lanta. Still, the Braves do have some holes in their game. Cards can win.
The Twinkies folded up like a cheap suitcase, thus giving the Yanks time to rest their aching players before they get the Stroes or Rays.

Wow, the Cards smoked the Braves 13-1! A 10-run first inning. Flaherty had a 10-run lead before his first pitch. Pretty good way to set up your pitcher.
Go Cards! |

That first inning definitely had a Marie Laveau voodoo hex in place against the Braves.

Congratulations to the Expos on a great win over LA. (I'm slow to change.)

Tonight is the battle of Pittsburgh Pirates prospects that washed out of the franchise that drafted them only to move on to greener pastures. Pittsburgh is so starved for competitive baseball that many here are talking of watching the game.

Kerbie you are not alone in your Cardinal fandom. Me and the Mrs rarely miss a game on the telly and usually host playoff watch parties out on the patio with the fire pit and grill both going strong.
Get to the stadium a few times a year when it's not burning hot outside. |

I come from a family of die-hard Yankee fans...
My uncle remembered when they moved to Yankee Stadium #1 from the Polo Grounds for the '23 season... My father was around to see every Yankee championship, from their first in 1927 until his passing in 2008 (when they unfortunately finished third) - buried with the Yankee cap he had for as long as I can remember... I got to see Yogi Berra's last regular-season home run - an ankle-high fastball that he clobbered into the notoriously short (296 ft.) right field, straight as a string - and the last of the legendary Bronx Bombers in action, if not necessarily in their prime... To paraphrase a famous beer commercial, I don't really follow major-league baseball anymore - I prefer the grassroots nature and fan camaraderie of the minor-league game, and try to visit the local ballparks whenever we're on the road (BTW congrats to the Brooklyn Cyclones - 2019 NY-Penn League Champs and my old hometown team) - but whenever I do, I always root for the Yankees...
