Default What would it be???

So the ongoing Martin thread has me intrigued, so I thought I'd make my own useless thread! If someone gave you a budget of $6,000 for ONE guitar, no questions asked, what would it be? New or used doesn't matter!

I don't know exact values and prices, but a vintage J-45 or SJ-45 or a vintage Martin D-18 or D-28 would be where I would focus my search.

I have no need for another guitar. So I'd upgrade my mandolin to a new Northfield or I'd track down a used Collings or Gibson.

Having been there and done that it's not so intriguing' So it would only mean the current guitar on my radar which I haven't even decided to purchase yet. That would be a Waterloo WL-12 Hh

Without going into listing a bunch of different builders, I can assure you it would be a Dreadnought.

Maybe a custom Larrivée D-10 with added fretboard and headstock inlay.

Kinda miss my 90s Collings DS2h having sold it earlier this year. Whilst I've still got three 12 fret dreads, I could be tempted by another, or even a DS3, or an 002h, yes, that'd do.

Edit: £6k wouldn't cut it for a DS3, but it might squeeze a 002h.

Mine would be a used '37 D-28 Authentic Aged....WHEN and IF I could find one at that $6,000 budget. That one I played at NAMM blew my mind and if I had the cash, there'd be one in my house and I'd learn to live with the neck!!

I’ve been itching for a Collings OM lately...just not sure rosewood or mahogany.

I could probably find a used Brondel for that much.

Preston Thompson D-18 or D-28 with whatever it takes to hit $6K.

Son and I already own two.

Right now, it would be Mahogany/Redwood combination or all Mahogany, and I would let my hands and ears decide the headstock.

With some very hard negotiating or “lightly used” perhaps this new model from Froggy Bottom.
