Smile Yummy

Looking Great!

The bracing scheme looks quite familiar...

And I see Tom has wisely opted for bevel and port! Smart fellow, and fun to be around, too.

Cheers

Paul

Thanks Paul.
And yes, this. Is the same bracing scheme i used on your Spanish Cedar guitar. Similar results.

Thanks Jamie. I know how you like the unconventional woods.

I have been remiss in replying to this thread. I initially wanted to keep this guitar kind of under the radar but perceptive people on the agf have figured it out. I did see this guitar when John was first building it for LaConner and I quickly jumped in and asked him if it was a spec guitar or for sale. Since it was a spec guitar I went ahead and bought it. John was kind enough to change the bevil's for me and basically tear it apart to add a rib bevil and we've done some design things with inlays and he has been wonderful to work with. I am always drawn to different woods and appearances and this one certainly stands out in that regard. And having played and sampled several of John's guitars and own one that I purchased used, I know it's going to sound fantastic as well.

Thank you John

Default Working on neck while the box is at Tony's place

Shooting lacquer and doing a little counter shading. Curly walnut with dark walnut stain on the heel and headstock. My spray booth is huge and well lit most days. The veneers are brazilian.

I know I'm weird, but this is my favorite stage of the segmented rosette. I know it wouldn't work inlaid in the top, but how about on the inside of the back, so you see it through the soundhole? Wouldn't that look cool? The rosette would clearly be a distillation of the original cubistic design. But then that might create some bracing challenges on the back. Back to the drawing board.

Standard that's a really creative idea. Got me thinking.
