Crane Lake makes ridiculously high-quality wines for the price.

Good topic.
Wine is one of those items where buying on price alone can be the worst of money traps, i.e. paying a high price + getting bad value.
So good on you if you found something great at Trader Joe's. $4.99 a bottle is indeed a great price, if the value is there, which I take your word for.
(BTW, that is a very unusual looking label though for a French wine. Not typical at all. Maybe the local French supplier has a an agreement with Trader Joe's.).

Currently, my "excellent value for the money every day wine list, which I categorize as < $10. a bottle (ones below are between 7 and 9), is made up of the following:

The other day though, I was in the mood for a non-bubbly Rose, and came across this very tasty offering from BOGLE wineries:

Sadly, at $12.99 a bottle (Wegmans), it's a few dollars above my target, but what's a rule without a few exceptions?

Maybe the subject of a new thread: Special occasion wines!

La Vielle Firme, French red that can be found a lot of places for $6, sometimes less. It's actually good, not just decent/cheap.
