Thanks cigarfan!

I got the center cut out of the headstock today. I installed the torsion rod and drilled the access hole for adjustments.
Here are a couple pictures of a rather roughed out headstock with the tuner bodies attached. I haven't made the tuner buttons yet:

Thanks!
Mark

How very Rococo! You seem to have channeled the great European designers of the late 17th/early 18th century:

I'm impressed!

Well thanks for that! I do know you like symmetry but that Amboyna Burl works hard to win folks over!

Thanks,

Thanks Paul, I think it’s easier to take a picture of something you made yourself.
You have already spent a considerable amount of time thinking about what you want it to look like.

Thanks for commenting,
Mark

Default Carving the neck

I'm pretty sure my favorite part of building a guitar is carving the neck. That is what I did today and I also started the finishing touch such as setting up the heel cap which I am doing here:

The neck wood is African Padauk:

African Padauk wood is where Amboyna Burl comes from. I am also using a different variant of the same wood for the cross grained center laminate which is "Bacon Figured" Padauk wood:

If you have been following this build you know this is the same wood I used for the radial top purfling.

Thanks for viewing!

Wow, that looks cool!
Beautiful color of the Padauk and the combination!
Already anxious for how it will turn out with finish on.
