sad news, I liked her too like Bob said she seemed to be one of the only sane and stable adults in that whole outfit.

I alluded to this in my post. I always thought she had the better voice and that she was the cutest one as well. Nicks seemed to be all drama.

She was one of those who reminded us how special music really is - that magic might exist, the power of subtle or less as more. No way could Rumors be one of the all time best sellers without her in it.

Special within the most played popular music is I cannot recall songs she was part of being ones I would switch/change to something else. That says a lot when you graduated from class of '77.

Thank you and RIP Christine.

Yep, if you were class of 76 / 77 it was a special time.

Some people thought they were a "new" band, but we in Mesa/Phoenix had already been listening to the Buckingham Nicks stuff on the legendary KDKB.

And so it goes.

It's all subjective, but Nicks was pretty cute too.

What we all agree on is that, looks aside, she was one talented lady.
RIP Christine McVie.

Warm Ways was the song that to me defined the lushness and beauty of Christie McVie's voice. That song made my heart flutter as a teenager. RIP sweet lady.

Lindsey was the fire and Stevie was the Mystery, but Christine was the backbone.

Her songs always ended up being favorites of mine, on every record. She really was a remarkable songwriter. May she Rest in Peace.

Amen to that. And to all you youngins, yeah yeah, Rumours was their biggest I guess, but for me Bare Trees was AWESOME. My brother and I tried so hard to get that intro sound on The Ghost. It could be that because I was in India (and shall we say, a bit behind in current music) when Rumours came out, I was off trend. Bare Trees for me is the defining Mac album.

It is amazing that Christine could be the sane one. I have thought many times how I would be able to do that. I am not sure I could. Thank you Christine, for your lovely voice, your incredible writing, and your sanity.

Agreed. From everything I've read, she lived as the most grounded of the five musicians who recorded Rumours, the least affected by wealth or fame. That's hard to do, and we can see that by looking at some of the other members.

Mike Myers did an interesting documentary on a legendary talent agent, called. Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon. In the course of the doc, he said (I'm paraphrasing), "I've never known a person in the music business whose life was improved by wealth and fame."

That makes me feel better about being poor and unknown.

This one hit me harder than I expected. Christine was the glue that helped the band achieve unbelievable success. She was a great songwriter, singer, and performer, and she brought a pop sensibility into the band that not only blended with Lindsey's curation, but also balanced the more adventurous songwriting from Buckingham and Nicks.

I've been playing her music for the last few days.

R.I.P. Christine

My favorite version of Fleetwood Mac was the Peter Green, Danny Kirwin, Jeremy Spencer version. After that, the Bare Trees group. I remember Christine Perfect from Chicken Shack appearing on Kiln House I think?

I love her voice.
