Default Other than guitar, what instruments do you wish you could play?

I realize there are many multi-instrumentalist members. Which other do you most wish you could play well, as well as guitar?

For me, it’s drums...a bunch of styles, but power drumming in particular. I’ve never really tried, but it seems that the all-body experience must be intoxicating and very fulfilling...let-alone a great workout.

Piano. I would love to be able to play it.
I’m still thinking about it! 😊

I’ve done several stints over the years as the bass player in various bands - mostly because no-one else wanted to.

I always enjoyed it, but never really felt like a bass player.

I’d love to be really fluent on bass.

Fingerstyle guitar doesn’t count as another instrument does it? Has proven to be even more difficult for me than flatpicking. Dreamt of playing mando and piano would be wonderful. Not happening for me tho. Spending all my music time trying to improve my guitar playing.

Piano for me, too. (Hi Andre - long time no see, buddy.)
I can get by on keys for recording - I know how to make chords and some inversions - when I can rehearse and/or erase tracks, but there’s no chance I could sit down with other musicians and just play a song. I’d be completely lost.

I took a stab at electric bass during the midst of covid - it didn't take....

Waaayyyy back when, Don McLean was a big influence. I love the way he played claw hammer banjo.

Alas, I’ve tried (kind of) but never really got it. I lack patience…not a personal trait I embrace.

Piano. I have an entry level Casio digital piano with 88 weighted keys but I never play it as I don’t have room in my flat to have it permanently set up.

The piano, definitely. We bought a nice Yamaha electric piano around ten years ago. It now has a fine film of dust on it!

Mandolin. Cello. Upright bass. Banjo. Bagpipes. Tuba (it would be a hoot to be in a polka band!).

I think a guy named Paul McCartney also took up bass because no-one else wanted to ... and look how that worked out.

Put me down for piano too please.

I just started dabbling in banjo. But I still work full time, have multiple projects going on and really love playing mandolin, mandola, octave mandolin, mandocello, violin, viola and of course guitar.

I played bass guitar for several years when I was younger, and rented an upright bass for a year. Lots of fun. Bass players tend to be in short supply at festivals. But the space it takes, transporting it.....

And we still have the ~100 year old family piano our daughter learned on (and we keep tuned). I plan to start piano when I retire.
