Default Rosette In

I have the rosette in for the Maple Dryad:

Here is a close-up:

You can see the cross-grained spalted Sugar Maple rings pretty well here. They are less than a 1/16" wide.

Loving that new blue pine Mark - i wonder whether you might end up having to also use some in the purflings (or something else blue) to strengthen the theme.

Thanks paulvdb, I agree that a couple additional blue highlights have a place on this guitar. I’m thinking on the headstock and fretboard. We’ll get the body closed up and take it from there.

Thanks for the comments!

More magic from the hands of Mr. Hatcher. His guitars are remarkable.

This photo and all the other recent ones on the Flickr album have me beyond excited, man. Don't think I've ever been close to this level of anticipation for a new build before, feel like I already know how it's going to sound and feel and the best part is I'm pretty sure my expectations will be surpassed.

It is a playful pose. It's my subtle way of showing how much I enjoy making guitars.

I have big expectations with this build for the sound and feel. The tops sounds great so far and the feel will be exceptional. It is rare to implement so many comfort features: The arm bevel, rib bevel, cut-away bevel (all in Snakewood) and the shallower body. It brings out the bad dad jokes in me:

There's a snake in the rosewoods and his name is Snuggles

It's an ergosaurus!

When it comes to comfort we'll call it the No ReGreta guitar.

Sorry about that

Whoa, that looks great. It's just the right amount of contrast from the surrounding woods.
