New Version of Emerald 3D Builder

Emerald just announced a new version of their 3D builder, which lets you design your guitar online. In the past you could select a wood type for a veneer. Now you can actually pick a specific veneer specimen from their current stock, and even shift it around to align it how you want. Very cool. Used to have to email back and forth with Emerald to get the veneer positioned how you like.

My god it is slow though. Still, I put together a pretty.

It takes 10 sec or so to get the initial model loaded. After that it's nearly instantaneous for me. Maybe the internet was having a bad day?

Likewise for me - positively zippy after initial load.

I did enter a design into the current competition, but it’s way too prosaic to get enough ‘likes’ to win.

Veneers took 2 - 5 minutes to load. (the veneer thumbnails)
