What I liked about the triple knot 17 was that it had a very dry Woody tone I do like 12 Frets I'm wondering if I would prefer the SM

The 000-17SM was discontinued in 2016. I found a new one that a AGF Sponsor had left in stock and bought it. It’s hard to find this particular spec....but apparently they didn’t sell well or Martin would have kept them in the lineup.

Hopefully it’ll be exactly what I’m looking for.

I think the 000 14 fret and 000 12 fret also have slightly different body dimensions. This is what I got from Martin's Website, as I am interested in both:
____Tot L__Body L_Width_Depth
12: 39.625 20.563 15.000 4.125
14: 39.813 19.375 15.000 4.125

And congrats, I hope you love it!

Thank you!

If I do it’ll be the first Martin I’ve ever loved.

I've never kept a Martin very long, but this one would stand a fighting chance. The ones I've seen and heard were sublime.

I agree with all the good things here about the 00017sm. Mine is wonderful and loves fiddle tunes.

I will add that my guitar neck is certainly mahogany and (to address the question) the tuners are not the smoothest. They are beautiful and do the job but a little stiff at times.

They're no worse than the tuners on my Waterloo.... which isn't saying much ... but in both cases, they work well enough that I wouldn't think of changing them.

Thanks. I’ve read varying remarks on them. The Waverly’s are NOT a direct drop in replacement either. Hope they’re at least decent.
