Getting pretty exciting around the ol' hacienda these days as guitars are started to arrive from various luthiers!!! Unboxing parties to begin shortly!

I spent a couple of hours at Rebecca Urlacher's house/shop yesterday, playing most of the guitars that are nearly on-the-way.

I must say, I was rather enamored with all of them. The Pink Ivory/Cedar Parlor almost went home with me, rather than to Texas...!

I did manage to record a couple of very impromptu raw iPhone videos.
I'll add a couple of them here, as my slow DSL upload-time permits...pardon my scruffy appearance, as I jumped out of bed early to drive the 2-1/2 hours over the Cascades...also pardon the scruffy playing!

The Pink Ivory/Cedar Parlor:

Here is one video with *two* big-sounding dreadnaughts.
I believe that Rebecca intends to bring one of these...I'm not sure which one.

Perhaps this should go to a vote?

Wow Ben!!! What a stellar guitar, my Friend. You don’t sound like you’re bragging at all…you just come across as TOTALLY GIDDY and super excited. It’s fun to watch, and totally endearing. It’s quite easy to see the difference between your presentation and one that is filled with braggadocio…and most people can recognize the difference…so don’t worry about what we think…just keep being the You we all love.

Indeed! Not only is Ben an accomplished player and a stellar luthier, we should add to his list of accolades a fine sense of style in his choice of apparel. Lookin good, Ben!
Oh, and can I make a request for the upcoming F&T concert?
I would love to hear you guys play “Fuller’s Crossing.” Por favor…

Steve

Thank you Larry for posting the Urlacher videos. I am excited to try them all! We will have at least 3 parlors at the party, Rebecca's, Steve Kinnaird, and Ben Wilborn are bring one each for sure and there maybe more. I played Steve's and it is pretty awesome, Oak back and sides BTW.

Thanks John for posting Ben's video, I was about to do it and there it was! That guitar is going to be pretty popular I am sure.

Steve, I tried to find Fuller's Crossing and could not find anything online. Does it go be another name by chance?

About a week away my friends!

It's track 8 on the Frog & Toad album that bears their name.

That is an excellent choice--but I keep trying to find the lyrics online with no success!

Getting closer, and looking forward to seeing an playing these beauties. I was able to visit Ben and his awesome shop a couple of weeks ago and got to play that Nautilus. He also showed me his deflection jig. It was almost as impressive as his parlor. I'm sure he has many more jigs that would wow me, but I'll have to save it for another time. My son is going to the University of Nevada, and I suspect I will make some more visits when I come to town as long as Ben doesn't get sick of me.

Default Frog and Toad

Hey! so excited for next week, as myself and Toad have been rehearsing and getting ready for the fun...

Thanks for the request of "Fuller's Crossing" Steve! We would love to play that, and might I ask could I play it on one of your guitars if you have one lying around?

Cheers!
Brad
