Since you asked...

...I'd like to see someone play bottleneck slide on one.

As a bluegrasser, my response would be, "If I need to worry about optimizing intonation, I'm not digging in enough."

Looks like a bad case of it too!

Did you leave it hanging in the sun?

Do fanned frets really make sense, is it the future of the guitar.

Does it really make for almost perfect intonation up and down the neck. What are drawbacks if any.

If you compare it to a staggered fret guitar, it almost seems like the two contradict each other. Or do they serve two different purposes ?

Dan

That's an intriguing proposition. I'd love to give it a try.

Makes the bass strings longer and the treble strings shorter.

And you can bend straight across the fret.

I've never played a fan fret guitar but I'd love to.

First played a fan fret guitar in '96. It was a Dingwall Bass.....did not like it. This is the only guitar I bought without trying it....mistake.

I sold it and have never looked at another fan fret guitar since.

Nice looking guitar. Would love to play one some day.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think the fan fret design has anything to do with intonation. I though it was to get the advantages of the long scale for the bass strings, and the shorter scale for the treble strings.
