Zoom H4n Tutorial DVD
I think the DVD is well done. The camera angles are nice, and it goes point by point. I find it and the Tascam DP 004/008 tutorial DVD to be very helpful with nice close ups, and some basics of recording, in general, that are interesting to learn.
I am amazed at his talent to put together a song. For those who have not seen it, he demonstrates the making of a multitrack song and adds "percussion" by tapping his fingers on the table where the H4n sits. It sounds great! I am curious as to others' opinion of the song the author put together, on the fly, for this DVD, in particular, how it is that tapping a table can sound as good as it does. Besides bongos and egg shakers, any other inexpensive suggestions on building my own percussion? Thank you.

no, I purchased it separately after finding the DVD on the Tascam to be very helpful.
there are many clips of it on You Tube, but they wisely leave out enough to cause you to purchase it. Both are well produced and informative, and for me, at least, worth the money.

Fran,
update: If I record the file (from ipod) to Stereo Mode and move it to MTR mode, it is recognizing the file. Thus far, I have not found it to recognize the same file that I move via computer, but I will keep at it and try various steps. Thank you for taking the time to help. Peter

One more idea. After you record the file from the iPod and move it, connect the H4n or the memory card to the computer and locate the new file. Then confirm that your imported file is in the same folder on the memory card. Fran
