Default Dobro Capo Question

Hey all,

I have a 1932 Dobro that I set up for lap style, and have been playing that way for years. It has that big old v neck on it.

I recently discovered that Shubb has a capo that could potentially work. Does anyone have any experience with capo's on these necks?

Roger

? Dobro capos go between the fretboard and the strings. Neck shape is irrelevant.

I owned one of the Shubb dobro capos. It was a little awkward to fit and only would work on one of the dobro guitars I have owned. The capos that float on the strings are easier to set up and move to exact pitch without having to retune.

I've played and studied traditional noter/drone mountain dulcimer for many years. And I used to play dobro in a bluegrass band.

Not with the Shubb. It has a piece that sits on the back of the neck.

Apparently the Beards are not in stock. The Charlie capo looks like it would work. I just wish these weren't so darn much $. 85 bucks! Oh well, what isn't more expensive than should be these days.

Thanks guys.

If you are at all handy, there are a few home made examples around that look pretty straight forward.
Disclaimer: I haven't tried, and I'm not that handy, but I'm going to give it a go as I need one....

Wasn't there when I looked earlier. Looks like https://robickes.com/product/beard-w...po-squareneck/ Or you could just hit Google listings.

I don't know if you can see this link in the US as it is from Ebay in the UK:

But I'm sure there must be someone in the US making something similar for about $30-$40.
