Default Guild F1512 GAD VS Westerly Collection

Hi,
I thought I might see if any members on AGF had any experience with these Guilds:

I'm in the market for pre-owned 12 string, was originally looking for a F512 sunburst but they're nearly impossible to find here in Canada. Plus, my budget is a little thin since acquiring my Guild D55. So I thought I might try to acquire a MIC F1512e. I know its not in the same league as the F512, but having never owned a 12er, it might be a good way to get my feet wet. Anyhow, I've seen both the GAD version and the Westerly Collection* version of the 1512 on the used market and was wondering if anyone had any experience with both and if one is better than the other. Personally, I prefer the block inlays and satin finish neck on the GAD 1512 vs the Westerly, but the later has bone appointments.

I know there are other options for jumbo 12s such as the Taylor 855, but I already own 3 Taylors and something is drawing towards the Guilds...

Thanks for your help!

*Westerly Collection refers to their MIC "affordable" Guilds made since 2015, not the Westerly RI Guilds of the 60's.

First Guild I ever played was a bandmate's Hoboken Starfire III in 1966...

First Guild acoustic was one of the first F-212XL's, owned by my church's worship leader in the late-60's...

Had a college bud with a killer F-50R - best all-around guitar I ever played...

Had bandmates through the '80s-90s with F-312, G-37, D-25, D-35, and D-40 models...

Owned five USA Westerly Guilds over the years, presently down to a JF30-12, maple F-20, and all-hog B4-E-AMB...

Other than the all-hog models, the GAD Series instruments are better as a whole than the MIC Westerly Series IME...

If you must have a rosewood jumbo 12, find a used GAD 1512...

If you want something that captures the essence of the USA Guilds at a price, find one of the current Westerly Series D-1212 models - they're a favorite around here...

Not Rosewood and not Guild but the Takamine GJ72CE-12 gets great reviews.

While I have no personal experience of the Guild F1512, several people on this forum have expressed opinions that it sounds pretty close to the F512. I would certainly try one if I were looking for another 12 string.

That would be the older GAD F-1512 - I've been less than impressed with the current Westerly Series version...
