Thanks

For a fixed bridge, put a capo on the second fret. Loosen the strings while pulling the slack toward the bridge, enough to be able to remove the bridge pins and strings. The capo holds the strings so they don’t unwind from the posts.

That depends on how high your saddle is. If you can loosen the strings enough to lift the saddle out and slip the new one in, then yes.

put a capo on the strings, loosen off the tension, pop the pins out, take the strings out of the bridge, have at the saddle, put it back together and tune it up. Strings will be more prone to breaking at the saddle since they will be bending at a slightly different place. OOPS, same advice as Rusty, first reply.

The replies above assume that your guitar doesn't have a pinless bridge.

If it does, you're screwed.

I don't see what difference a pinless bridge makes, and I don't think that removing the pins to get the saddle out qualifies as "without restringing."

Whats the problem with just removing the strings and keeping them intact? I have removed the strings on my guitar three times now and put them right back on. No broken strings yet. Though I am sure I weakened them a little

I’ve replaced numerous bridge saddles, not as many as Rodger Knox but I totally agree with Rodger’s reply. When fine tuning the setup you may have to install, remove and reinstall until the setup is perfected. If you had to keep installing and removing the strings the process would take twice as long.
