Question What's your favorite quote/s in signatures in AGF?

Hi All. I'm not sure how many of you read quotes in signature but I do. Many of them put a smile on my face or give me a good laugh. Here are 3 that I like and remember, though (maybe) not quoted "word for word" but it carries the gest of the quote. Share your favorite quote/s.

"My biggest fear is when I die, my wife will sell my guitars for what I told her they cost."

"Your guitars will sound just like you."

A long list of guitars (15-20 if I remember correctly........"No Wife."

I read and enjoy them as well. My favorite thus far:

"I've never wished a man dead, but I've read many an obituary with great pleasure"

(it's a Mark Twain quote, just to be clear!).

Not sure where I saw it...

"Admit nothing, even on your deathbed. You might suddenly get better."

MC1's signature!

"2008 Zagerized/Torrefied Esteban DeLuxe Custom Special with built-in permanent 24/7 tonerite, and extra-extra soft fret wire.
Taylor Gigbag and Martin Strings and Jimmy Hendrix pick."

He doesn't mention it but it's a rare, one of a kind model that will one day be in the Smithsonian or The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

I know for a fact he's had many offers but he won't sell it.

LOL! Bruce, I was one of those offers . Insurance would be too expensive to ship to Australia though. Only Angus Young could afford it.

Rumour has it down here that the late Kurt Cobain's 1959 Martin D-18E that was bought by an Aussie for US$6 million ... wasn't his first choice.

Is that were Cobain's D-18E went? I know it went for $6M a few months ago. Stunning number, a record for a guitar.

Yes, bought by Peter Freedman founder of Rode microphones here in Australia.

You can find the Deluxe Estebans, you occasionally see a Custom Special on reverb, you can maybe get NASA to sell a little bit of that soft, soft fret wire. But a Deluxe Custom Special with the magic fretwire - preposterous!

To quote the legendary Derek Smalls of Spinal Taps fame: "I envy myself."

I've had interest from the Smithsonian - not the one in Washington, but the lesser known (but just as prestigious in my opinion) Smithsonian Museum of Antiquities and Lawn Art in Ecum Secum, Nova Scotia. They have the 2nd largest collection of tractor tire flower planters in Northeast Atlantic Canada!

Trust me, it's pretty much impossible for me to sell.

I was tempted, as it's always been a dream of mine to buy super jumbo guitars for all the kids at the local kindergarten, but when he told me he'd put on medical gloves and handle it with extreme care, something just didn't sit right with me.

This is a player's guitar, and needs to singing its song, walking its walk, strumming its strum. Putting it in a museum is like putting a bird in a cage. Like only playing in the first position. Like never having the bravado and courage to use a steel hubcap to strum Pinball Wizard. Life is for living, my friend.

Here’s another good quote by Denny B...

“Expecting the World to treat you fairly because you’re a good person, is kind of like expecting the Bull not to attack you because you’re a vegetarian.”

The user escapes me, and I don't think they are around anymore, but someone use to list all their appliances and I thought that was brilliant.

I've been to Ecum Secum - I had to go just because of that name. I did spot that Smithsonian Museum of Antiquities. They also have a great collection of ship anchors 'planted' within some of those tractor tires. How cool is that?

Another funny quote, this time by Phade314....

"I wish my wife looked at me like I look at my guitars."
