I have a $10 gift cert for Amazon and am considering getting that DVD ljguitar recommends. I also have read that pdf and webpage linked here once before, and had forgotten about it I think I have it printed at home actually.

I spent most of my free time in open D working on blues slide song this weekend (I bought my first slide Friday too - a giant piece of brass). I really enjoyed, it, but when the desire to improvise hit, I was a bit lost. I ended up back in standard... I guess that is why I never improve... I always go back to what I know.

I think I need to head into the Drop D area, so I can improvise in something similar to standard.

I play mostly DADGAD and CGDGCD.
A couple of DADGAD people you can check out are Simon Fox and Doug Young. They both have extensive and quality information put together.
For anything CGDGCD "Orkney tuning" check out Steve Baughman and Martin Simpson. Steve Baughman has quite a diverse repertoire. And Martin Simpson has done some really interesting things.
