Default Romeo & Juliet (dire straights)

I'm newer to the guitar (about 6 to 7 months) and decided to start tackling one of my favourite songs.

I was wondering if any of you play this song, and how you would go about it. It seems that there's a bit of a lack variety in tabs on the internet. Basically it seems that some people don't use a capo, and some use one on either the first, third, or the (maybe) fifth fret, but it seems like the only source for chords shows only the version without a capo, and with it at first fret.

What i wanted to know is how to "shift" those chords up the neck so i can play it with a capo at the third fret? So far i've been playing it with the chords from the Killers version, meant to be played with capo at 7, but i just play those same chords with the capo at 3.

Does anyone else play this? If so how do you usually play it?

Nothing wrong with playing the same chords capoed at the third fret if that's what fits your voice. The important thing is to play it in a key that you can sing too, so capo at whatever fret works best.

Mainly i throw the capo there because of the intro, i find the fingering a bit easier, and i don't have to slide up and down the neck.

Also i don't really sing... yet...

Thanks.

I just have my electric right now, but i can kinda tell it lends itself way more to an acoustic so i'm going to have to play that as soon as i get back to my acoustic guitar.

One of my favorite songs to play ...

Capo 3:

(D) Well a lovestruck Romeo (Bm) sings the streets a serenade
(D) Laying everybody low (Bm) with a love song that he made
(A) He finds a streetlight and steps out of the (D) shade, he says something like
(G) "You and me babe, how a(A)bout it?"

(verse 2, same pattern to last verse ...)

Refrain:

(D) Juliet, (A) the dice were (Bm) loaded from the (G) start
and I (D) bet (A) and you ex(Bm)ploded in my (G) heart
and I for(D)get, I for(G)get (Bm) the movie song
(Em) when you gonna realize it was (G) just the (A) time was wrong. (Bm) (A)
(D)Juliet!

Hope that helps!
