Just caught up with this .. I theenk you jest!

Yes I love 12 fret guitars, but I also love archtops, and believe it or not I did once have a 12 fret slotted headstock deep body archtop!

Apparently it was built in the late 20s, early '30s by a George (or Thomas) Hensell in Toronto.
it occurred to me that it might have come to the UK with a Canadian soldier for D-Day, so I thought I I had a "duty of care" to have it fixed up, but the neck was too narrow for me and so I sold it on.
I bought it as a "project" from a friendly local dealer, and he sold it for me and I made a considerable profit (for once!)
Folkways Music in Canada were very helpful in identifying it.

Hi, I got my latest acquisition back from my luthier tech gent this afternoon, and thought I'd share some pics, including the Epiphone case i got for it.

i have to say that I have a "thing" about cases and love that this one is brown with a purple interior and it really is a well made case, esp. considering that it is made for relatively cheap pressed top electros.

The Eastman case is as solid s rock and would be excellent were I travelling, perhaps even flying but i have no such plans and as it also has hard rubber feet which seem attracted to knees, this Epiphone case is where this Eastman will live from now on.

So, just to say, thanks for all your help and suggestions - appreciated.

See the pics below.
