Watch AGF member Methos’ video posted today. I played at a local wine bar Saturday evening with mine (totally battery-powered, with Lithium Ion battery powering my Play Acoustic pedal.) The unit was placed about 5’ to my side on stage. Amazing coverage. Double doors opened to the parking lot, and the people outside smoking could hear perfectly, as well as those in the 50’ rectangular wine bar.
It’s all I need these days for my coffee house gigs, and I can set up anywhere. |

Any feedback you can give me on the settings of these unit? Like: - Play Acoustic tone to “normal” and Bose tonematch off? - How about the EQ settings? - Output settings on di or mono? - if Di, are both Bose channels using similar EQ? Thanks in advance. I would appreciate any help. |

All I had to do with the Bose S1 was turn off the ToneMatch and reduce the bass on channel one, the only one I use on mono setting from the Play Acoustic. I do use the soft mix button on the Play Acoustic to adjust output and guitar volume. I hope that helps, but know that my guitar has a K&K pickup which is bass heavy. I like the vocal tonematch preset on guitar better than I like the guitar one.

Watched your you tube videos. Very nice sound. Great job! So you have a K & k in that TAylor? If so, what is the model number of that guitar? Last edited by Kerbie; 04-25-2018 at 05:45 AM. Reason: Edited quote |

I think tips are relatively unnecessary for this unit. There are three options for mids (tone match), bass, treble, and reverb per channel. Pretty simple.
Tip 1: turn it on. Tip 2: plug stuff in. Tip 3: dial 3 knobs and switch. Tip 4: don’t let someone walk off with it. :-)

Hey, Marty C,
That was my 814ce Taylor with ES 1.3 expression system. It sounded fine through my Bose Compact L1. Those videos are 6 years old now, and today I play my Martin CE0-7 with the K&K. No more magnetic pickups for me with batteries. Thanks for looking, as I still use those videos when searching for new gigs, even though that was an “oldies” set. I’m sure you’ll have no trouble eq-ing your S1, as has been pointed out by previous posters on this thread. |
