Default The Journey Home - Slack Key on nylon

My latest video,

I learned this song at George Kahumoku Jr's Slack Key Guitar and Ukulele Workshop last year. Paul Togioka wrote and recorded the song on his album "Here, There and Everywhere Slack Key Guitar".

He was one of the instructors at the workshop and personally taught us this song. Hope you enjoy!

Gary

Thanks folks,

I went back and forth on doing this on steel vs Nylon. At the end of the day, there is something really cool about Nylon that is hard to describe.

Thanks again for the comments!

Well done Gary! I enjoyed that!

It is true that we don't normally hear slack key played on a nylon stringed guitar, but your performance sounded very good! Just right!

I really don't know much about slack key but that tune totally suits the nylon string guitar. I now want to learn it. Well done!

Thanks! If you want to learn the song, you can request the tab from Paul at
http://paultogioka.com/

If you want to learn Slack Key in general, there are good instructional materials available from:

Keola Beamer
Ozzie Kotani
Ledward (Led) Kaapana
George Kahumoku Jr
Jeff Peterson
Patrick Landeza
And probably a few more I’m missing.

Paul does not have a book or DVD available, but he does make some of his tab available as I noted above.

Hope that helps!
Gary
