Taylor GS Mini E or...
hellooo from down under.
Newbie poster. Before which I have scanned through the many threads on the Taylor GS Mini here. (Wow quite a following here!!) But I have to ask still. I'm looking for a smaller body guitar so: Parlour or GS Mini. I actually learnt how to play on a Yamaha APX-T2 which I sold ages ago now but still yearn for the portability of a smaller guitar around the home. Over here a GS Mini-E RW is circa A$879 before negotiating. I have had the good fortune of trying a Takamine TP3NY (offered at circa A$1200) and so there lies my conundrum. Both have a very different sound but both are in the same size bracket which I'm looking for. Though coin-wise it's a fair bit apart. Or can someone else suggest something completely different in that size and price bracket? Anyone here can provide some insight or thoughts? Thanks.

Have you seen the shaftesbury guitars? I have the parlour and they are really great! You can get one with electrics or without! Here is their site: http://www.shaftesburyguitars.com/st...1/1/Acoustics/

I don't know if you'd be able to find one...
But there is also some love here for the Walden T550. About the same size with a longer scale neck. And considerably less expensive. And Eastman makes a knock off of the GS mini. I've met and played only one, and it wasn't as lush sounding as the Mini. But it was also half the price.

I have the GS Mini (Holden Village) and also the Alvarez AP70 parlor. They are both quite comfortable to play. The Alvy has a wider nut and is a 12-fret. The GSM has a narrower neck and so is easier for me to mute the low E with my thumb. The guitar sound very different, and I really enjoy playing both of 'em. If you can try an AP70 I suggest you do so, as they are cheaper in the states than the GSM.

On the other hand, alot of the brands being mentioned are NOT Available here in Melbourne Australia.
