Great stuff guys. The FS looks great, and the parlor is awesome too. I love the ebony and thanks for showing us the process on the back strip. I bet that took more than five minutes.

Yes sir. Speckled I think is the official adjective, but since we luthiers can't even decide on Guatemalan or Panamanian or whatever rosewood, I'm giving you full value for your answer. $250 Kinnaird bucks to you (redeemable at any official Kinnaird Guitars outlet - store hours apply).

Wait a minute, you asked for its NAME! Are you sure I wasn't right?
Oh, and very nice looking start on that little ebony job.

Thank you brother!
And one more shot of this ebony set, this time back resting on rims: Can you picture jet black bindings, separated from back and sides by a w/b/w purfling line? Hope you can, and here's to hoping it looks as elegant in reality as it does in our imagination. Steve |

Well, we have finished the second in our series of Shop Guitars. This Redwood/E. Indian FS will make the journey with us to Santa Barbara in September if we still have it by then. We are extremely pleased with how it turned out. Another winner in the tone department for Redwood - also for EIR too. These woods make a great combo. J.R. bought a little CS with this combo and used it to record an album (you should pick it up - Home Texas). The Redwood sparkles and the EIR booms. Anyway, hope you like these pics. I will try to take some "final" overall shots and get some clips uploaded soon. When it's all done I'll start a Marketplace thread for anyone who may be interested. Thanks for watching this one, and keep following this thread as we have some great ones coming!
Thanks again! |

That's really pretty. You guys are cranking them out. I was trying to keep up, finally just fell out.

Thanks John. I don't know, it seems like there's been a renaissance over at Kinnaird Guitars - East. We've got four more guitars to finish by Santa Barbara in September. That is going to be tight.

And I thought I would include a shot of my new friend. Extra points if you know the name.
Wait a second, our realtors assured us there were no snakes in Texas....were you over the border in LA when you took this pic????

Oh beautiful guitar btw....that redwood top came out such a luscious color. So rich and dark. Beautiful...highly looking forward to the sound clips as always.

LA is full of snakes for sure. We're talking Los Angeles right? Believe me in central Texas, you're not going to be worried about snakes. Scorpions though, they may be bosom buddies.

Oh crap. Do I need to check my shoes each time I put them on?

New house? For the first year. I'm not trying to scare you. They are not as bad as the reputation, but if you're taking their home, they will be around until they figure it out. Most bugs avoid the spray, but the scorpions are a little more stalwart. No fear, but check the shoes for a while.
