What instrument(s) can make you cry?
(Besides the human voice)
I’m not talking about some poorly played instrument. I'm talking about the ones that touch your heart, especially in a heart wrenching song. For me, violin and harmonica.

Piano, violin (fiddle) and I know I'm going to get ribbed for this one but, bag pipes. I don't know what it is about them but certain melodies on bag pipes can get to me.

A good sax solo can move me to tears as can a fine oboe solo!
Strings as well, violin solos can wring the heart strings.

The human voice can be a powerful instrument.
There's something about this clip I find very moving. I think it's the joy coming from the choir adding their part and enhancing a great song.

I've never been moved to tears by any musical instrument, but I've been thrilled to goose bumps by great performances on many different ones.
