This Kinnaird quilted maple is not only stunning looking, it is one of the nicest guitars I have ever played. There is no harshness or brittleness to the sound. Smooth, lots of bass, wonderful balance and the sustain may be the most in any I have, and I am embarrassed to say I have a few very nice guitars. Why not get something built to your exact specs and help design it if you can? I am very impressed with this guitar. They are great to work with and you will have the maple guitar of your dreams:

A wonderful instrument. I've only played one, but I've never forgotten it.

Nice! I'm a fan of John Walker's guitars but haven't played a maple one. Yet.

Brucebubs, in case you're looking for a BIG guitar, John makes a jumbo, too, the Selway.

Lots of beautiful guitars in this thread!

Thank you, it truly is and I know we always say this, but I mean it, the sound of this guitar overshadows its beauty which makes it perfect to me, wonderful to look at and SMELL, and even better to play and hear!!!! I have it tuned to open E working on a song right now and it is hard to concentrate as I just keep playing that open E and listening to her ring.

The Waterloo Scissortail.

Hands down, it has WAY more punch than a Gibson J-200, which is aptly called "The Sleeping Giant."

I would never buy a maple guitar.
I hate getting syrup on my fingers.

Only own one maple guitar - my Huss & Dalton CM 12 string. Looks very nice and sounds gorgeous too. I've wondered what a 6 string in this body size would sound like.

It's a tie between my former 1970 Guild G-37 and my 2006 Guild F-412NT.

Not a Gibson fan but the best Maple guitar that I have played was a J-200.

Default Best Maple Guitar You've Played Or Heard Or Own

But even now, my "Big Maple Martin" (as a friend calls it) brings a smile.

+1 on a Martin J-65M! One of Martins best kept secrets...imo. It was my return to playing guitar after a 15 year break. Great big sound & beauty to match. A good friend begged me to sell it to him but, no way! Eventually I found another for him & it remained his only acoustic for years.
Sadly, they are both no more. My buddy died last year, so his mom took ownership & sold it for a song. I finally made the decision to sell mine for downsizing reasons & realizing that I get along much better w/ a 1 3/4” nut width. A fellow on Rvb bought it & is completely smitten with it. :-)
