Yes, that would be the #1 worst place to store a guitar.

Thats’s terrible and sorry that this happen to you. I was contemplating on installing one but I was told of that risk and opted out.

Every guitar store has hundreds of guitars hanging on them. The only risk is when they are not installed correctly and this one out of 3 million or more that had a defect.

Agreed. I do the same.

That's nice, but I was referring to practicing the instrument, not just playing a song or two. Personally, I wouldn't consider 5 minutes of playing a song meaningful practice.

While that may be true, 5 minutes here and there adds up and over the years it can lead to hours of time which are all helpful.

(your definition of "meaningful" is not universal)

I don't own guitars to practice. I own guitars to play a song or two.

That's why I qualified what I said with the word "personally". I have been playing for long enough that I know what works for me when I'm trying to focus and accomplish something. Five minutes wouldn't even get me through a warm up.

Liquid nails is only as secure as the paint on the wall.

The only 99.99% secure positive mounting of a hanger, is screw them to the stud. Being 16 inch on center is normal spacing, you should have no problem getting guitars spaced relatively equally.
Don't use plastic screw into the wallboard fasteners. They loosen a bit every time you lift the guitar from the hanger. At best you have 1/8" thread secured into Chalk, and heavy paper.

Thanks for your input. That's why my comment was qualified with the word "personally". I, too, own guitars for more than practice. But if I am to perform competently with my band, I do need to practice and develop our material.

Do they have to be mutually exclusive? I do both. I practice when I have time and just play a song or two when I don't.
