I still remember fondly your Flammang you showed me at FPR years ago. Wonderful instrument. The OP's link failed to play Joe's vid to me and I'm fine with that. I was horrified by his act when I heard it live, and nothing I've seen or heard on youtube has changed my mind. I'd prefer to never come across him or his "music" again this time around on this sphere . . . . . .

I heard "Driving Towards the Daylight" on Sirius about a month ago and was just taken aback by the guitar playing of this guy named Joe Bonamassa. I had never heard of him before that. Wow! I could I have not heard of him? Anyway. I became a fan right then and there.
Driving Towards the Daylight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTG-bCMG05E Different Shades of Blue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3_GOk36JD0 I know these are not acoustic performances but still sounds good to my ears. Last edited by rosborn; 03-06-2015 at 06:40 PM. |

I've had the honour of meeting Joe twice. First time, he took me and my son on a personal tour of his stage rig. Second time was over a year later and he remembered my name. He is one of the most humble, nicest guys I have met, not to mention hard working, which is why he enjoys the success he does to this day. But that success will always trigger the envy of those who wish they were 1/100th as successful but lack the commitment, work ethic or requisite skill to do so. I'd prefer it if guitar forums didn't have members like you in them...

Many moons ago! How are you? How's your daughter? I've still got that wonderful Flammang, of course. I recall another fellow at the workshop who was enamored of the guitar:

Chelsea got offered the chef job there and demurred in favor of her then-boyfriend. She now has a full mobile kitchen: http://chelseasrealfood.com/ It's doing well. We vended at one of Vanessa's mini-fests last year. We even have a micro-farm in Meigs county with chickens and ducks and a 1939 Ford tracktor oh-boy!
