For Sale: Red spruce Macassar multi-scale baritone
One of my baritone show guitars has just completed a recording session in Toronto -- it's now for sale. This one is a 27-28.5" multi-scale medium jumbo with Florentine cutaway. Macassar ebony with red spruce top, African mahogany neck, Indian ebony accents. The inlays are rare green sea snail. The guitar is equipped with an LR Baggs Lyric system.
As you can tell from the video here (I hope the embedded YouTube works!), the guitar sounds awesome. Toronto guitarist Jeff Biggar is playing Andy Mckee's "Ebon Coast. Please PM enquiries. Lacey Act restrictions prevent commerial shipping to the US -- you would have to travel to Canada and carry the guitar back with you. No CITES restrictions to ship anywhere else. The original price on the guitar was CAD 6025, but it's been on display a lot this past year and tried by various players, and there is some minor travel damage to the case. For those reasons, I’m knocking this guitar down by 50% as a demonstrator. It’s still in exceptional condition, as seen in the video. Sales tax is extra – 15% if sold in Quebec, 5% if sold elsewhere in Canada. None if shipped outside. Last edited by Tim Mullin; 06-13-2018 at 06:01 PM. Reason: Add pricing |

Jim, if I'm reading the OP's post correctly, the price should be 50% of the original, i.e. CAD 6025/2 = 3012.50. That translates to a USD price of approximately $2321.56. Then there's sales tax, but apparently none if sold to a US buyer (or other non-Canadian buyer) willing to travel to Canada to pick up the guitar. Tim, please correct me if I'm wrong.

What a cool instrument - shouldn't last long. I just sent the link to a friend in Ottawa.
What is the nut width and saddle spacing? If you have closeup pics and want to send them to me (email in my profile) I'll post them for you. You've got my wheels turning on how I could get this!

For others, nut is 46.0 mm, saddle string spacing 59.0 mm. More pics available next week when the guitar returns to the shop. |

Oh well, I tried, but the pics don't seem to show. Best is to use the hyperlink to the Dropbox folder in previous post. Sorry.

For Sale: Red spruce Macassar multi-scale baritone
I guess I’m allowed to bump this?
Considerable interest from US members, but I quite understand no one wants to deal with US Fish and Wildlife on the Lacey paperwork on the shell. Of course, you can always cross into Canada with your valuable greenbacks and take the guitar back with you. Realistically, this baritone should mainly interest non-US buyers. Happy to answer questions.
